Rocks, ice and the river…

I got a bit distracted at my mailbox yesterday, (the box sits atop the bank of the Green River).  I noticed all of the ice and debris piling up along the river stones, forming jams… and I had to go down the bank to investigate.  Sure enough, I discovered more “ice amber” down in the swirling water.

Beautiful.  Inspirational.  I set to work with those images in my head today…

Today the forest is coated in a fine layer of frozen mist and sleet.  A slow but steady accumulation of this icy precipitation has created fuzzy looking branches and powdery surfaces. Everything on my hill-top looks soft and chilly, like frosted glass.
