Winter Vines I, 2014 – Michaela Harlow – 13″ x 9″, pastel on paper (11″ x 15″)

With more than two feet of accumulated snow in my garden, little remains to be seen at ground level. But looking up, bits of paper-thin hops, wisteria, hydrangea vine and clematis catch snow and ice; reflecting pink winter light like crystalline prisms.
