Sweet Water, 2014 – Michaela Harlow – 16″ x 10″, pastel on paper (18″ x 12″)
Springtime suspended. Willows aglow but not in leaf. A few extra moments to observe the unfolding of a new season, reflected in the river. Warm colors contrast with cooler hues as long light dances on liquid glass. Sweet water . . .
Sweet Water, 2014, in process. And yes, that is a bread knife.
In the studio this week, sketches and fresh daffodils from the garden. It may be cold and wet out there, but signs of spring push on.

Great turmoil in this piece! At least to my eye. I like the mood/feeling you’ve captured here.
Thank you, Jen. I think you hit the nail on the head. Sometimes, my work reveals things -subconscious thoughts I suppose- that I’m not really aware of until I look them in the eye, so to speak. You know how that goes, eh?
