September Waters IV, 2014 – Michaela Harlow – Pastel on Handmade, Deckle-Edged Paper  12″ x 14.5″
Lapis lazuli blue. September skies in New England are the bluest blue that I know. Impossibly blue, it seems. And when the trees begin to catch fire, the heavens only seem bluer. Autumn always makes me greedy for time. I want to be out on the water, paddling away in my kayak. I want to be inside the sky, chasing lengthening shadows.
Forgive me if I can’t seem to return your calls.
