Thirty in Thirty, 2014: Glint

 photo

Glint, 2014 – Michaela Harlow – 16″ x 16″, oil on panel

Sunlight on half-frozen water. Squint hard. A glint so blindingly bright it burns the eyes. Robins are clucking in the trees. Too soon. Far too soon. But it sure feels like spring fever.

Glint. There she is, up on the apothecary, all warm and shimmery, keeping cousin Brookie company.

Posting late tonight. Finished up my piece and snapped a couple of shots, then I ran outdoors. How could I resist?

Oooo, that green under the ice, brought out even more by the flecks of rusty-red-orange. This one feels like it’s on the verge of spring. Makes me feel light and hopeful.
